Restoration of Plastic insert emblems
Restoration is not usually recommended on plastic inserts for a couple of reasons.
Please see the information under Reproduction for plastic insert emblems
Our restoration service for enamel emblems includes minor metal repair or straightening, attachment of studs, replacement of enamel and replating. Our service is unmatched for a couple of important reasons. First of all we use only obsolete lead-bearing enamels that were originally used. Government regulations have outlawed the manufacture of lead-bearing enamel decades ago. We have stockpiled many of these rare and often costly enamels in order to match the original colors. Secondly our finish plating is of the highest quality and done professionally. And lastly, our own time proven, proprietary techniques developed specifically for the automotive style emblem. Cost & Turn around
Turn around time on an emblem restoration will usually run about 12 to 16 weeks. But because we group these emblems into batches, which we do only a couple of times a year, actual restoration time may be much longer. Before we can give you a quote on any restoration, we must see the actual emblem. Pictures, copies etc. will not help. Your cost can be reduced if you have any extra emblems that can be used as 'trade-ins' for their core value. Costs are determined by the size, number of colors, type of colors and complexity of design, as well as any metal or stud repair that may be required. Obviously, more colors, complexity, large size or very small size will affect labor and material costs. The average, simple, medium sized emblem with one or two colors will run about $250.00 e.g. the "Ford" emblem. Emblems that have translucent colors, such as the "Dodge" emblem pictured here, everything else remaining equal will run about $295.00. Call for further details
What to do next
When you are ready to have your emblem restored, it would be a good idea to call first. We can give you a "ball park" idea of the cost and let you know how the turn around is shaping up. Pack the emblem properly in a box, not a padded envelope. If you are shipping UPS, we can give you the shipping address when you call, or send it to our Post Office Box. If you insure your package for at least $100.00 you will get a tracking number for your package (just like UPS). Be sure to include your name, address and telephone number where you can be reached during business hours. Upon receipt, we will call you with your quote. It's that simple!
